SWORD AND SHIELD- In this section we demonstrate the theories explained in the way we ride, with seat, legs, one hand, sword and shield. This also brings the importance of trust between horse and rider. GAROTCHA-This Spanish discipline will be expertly demonstrated. Historically used to herd bulls again this uses all the principals of the way we ride, with the horse having no fear of the pole around his body. JOUSTING-This medieval sport was recently catapulted in to the 20th Century in the movie, A Knights Tale .First we will discuss the training involved for the horses and riders. Then the two riders will go head to head in the recreation of a stunt performed in A Knights Tale. Only this time there are no wires and the viewers will see the full force of the 40mph impact that will bare one rider to the ground.

In the 18th Century it became a sport when it was taken up by army officers in the Indian subcontinent. It also has gruesome links with the crusades . After the history has been explained including the training involved for horses and riders, it will be demonstrated in a competition. HORSES IN BATTLE- This section we discuss how the horse was used as a weapon not just as a mode of transport in its history on the battle field. THE HISTORY OF TRICK RIDING- In this we explain where trick riding came from how it was used by the Russian Cossacks in battle as a way of physiological war fare and as a means to out manoeuvre the infantry. Also its place in the first Greek circuses the sport and its possible conception in the far east. This is a subject very few people know much about except those that have been given the skills and the knowledge from previous generations. For the pupil it is a look into a world of horses that they may not even know exists never mind if it is possible. Not only that but it is explained comprehensively its history to the present day. THE TRAINING INVOLVED- Here we show some of the exercises any trainee trick rider has to achieve to become a trick rider. Included performing tricks blindfold to show how perfectly in time with the horse it is nessarsery to be.
